Patchwork Puppy Project - The Squares
It's not so important that your squares turn out to be exactly 8 x 8 or whatever. In theory, if you crochet looser or tighter than me then everything is off by the same proportion so it still all fits together anyway. For this particular type of layout, however, it is important that your squares are actually square, so you should always measure and add or take away rows to get a square Square. I have written this into the instructions to remind you - and you should repeat it for each square of whichever size that you make because even different colors of the same brand and type of yarn can vary in thickness.

The Layouts (What these squares are for!)
QUICK CHECK: Fold your square diagonally to check. If it makes a perfect triangle, then it is as tall as it is wide and that is what makes it square.
