Hat #4
Hat #4 of 25 Hats in 2015

Destashification Slouch Hat
Finish Date: 02/18/15
Yarn: Charcoal (LBVC) Limelight (ILTY)
I Learned: More Jogless Stripes Practice
Grade: A-
I altered a lot about this pattern. It had you starting out with size 5 needles, but I knew I couldn't knit the VC without it splitting on needles that small. I changed the cast-on so I could use size 7. I also changed the stripe sequence- instead of 2, 2 I did 2, 4. I was afraid by not using multiple colors a 2, 2 would end up looking like a pirate hat. And didn't really care for the very pointy crown, so I did a less gradual decreased. I was very proud of my timing of the stripes to match perfectly with the decreases. I was very proud of about 3 of my jogless stripes and downright ashamed of one of them, so I guess that's more good than bad.
This hat was requested by my son-in-law. I think it turned out pretty neat, if you don't look at the back. Hope he will like the shade of gray I chose. He wasn't very specific.
